Monthly Corps of Discovery Competition

Need a new challenge?  Want to see how you stack up against your fellow explorers? Then join our monthly Corps of Discovery competition!

Using this free downloadable map, what is the highest score you can get? Print it out (use the concealer page to hide the map as you grab it from your printer), and play the game with whichever characters and gear that you want.

Once you’re done, come back here and comment with your score, as well as the characters and gear you used! We’d also love to hear any harrowing counts of near defeat at the hands (or claws) of the devilish monsters, mindful management of resources, and seeking for the right time to unleash your character and gear powers!

The highest score every month will be announced in the following month’s newsletter and crowned the Champion that month. We all must bow down to their excellence.

Download the May 2025 Map here, and comment below once you’re done with your score and which characters and gear you used. We made the first page blank to try to hide the map from you.

I died after 19 moves. But appreciate the monthly challenge! Hopefully I’ll be able to beat one!

Hello. I just finished it. I chose “Lewis” with “Mortar and Pestle” and I had 16 points. It was really interesting map, not easy to figure it out where fortresses are. I played it for one hour and 19 minutes. 🙂 Thank you I am looking forward to another one. It would be great if you can make it on A4 format too – that letter format of yours is challenge by itself for me… 😀

If you were playing solo, then you should have more gear! As for A4 – unfortunately that’s impossible because even if we did, it wouldn’t fit inside the contraption. You’ll always have to trim the edges of the paper (or order some letter sized paper??). Sorry – we had to choose 1 format and chose letter sized due to North America having our largest customer base.

Ou! I forgot about more gear because | only played 4-player games so far. So I played semi-hard core mode 😀

About A4 format. I understand that you have preset dimensions of map. So map could be with real dimensions but on A4 format ( so it is not on whole paper, only on part of it ). It is difficult to cut edges of map and solve its position, size of windows and so on when you can not see it. 😀 When dimensions will be real I see from white page of paper where borders of map on other side are and can cut them with scisors easily…
…but that was only suggestion supporting non-american backers. If it is problem for you, never mind. I can solve it from my side too. This map I know now so I can try different options with my printer to find best strategy for future for me.
