Ambassador Program

Have you opened up all the SHIFT Packages in MIND MGMT? Do you prefer the Family or the Protectors (or are you a Kammi fan?) Which expansion from Corps of Discovery is your favourite? If you can answer each of these questions, then maybe you’d make a great Ambassador!

What is an Ambassador?

An Ambassador is someone who loves our games and wants to talk about them to people, and share the experience with others. We are looking for friendly people who are passionate and excited about our games and the comics they represent.

What does an Ambassador do?

An Ambassador will do some combination of the following on a regular basis.  We want this to be fun, so we encourage you to find activities that you enjoy and not feel like you have to do everything on this list to be an Ambassador.

  • Demoing games at:
    • Conventions
    • Local retailers
    • Board game groups/meetups
  • Posting reviews on BGG
  • Sharing posts on social media, telling people about a current Kickstarter, etc.
  • Informally moderating BGG, Discord, socials, etc. (answering questions, steering conversations, etc.)
  • Helping us at conventions that we’re attending
  • Playtesting and providing feedback (virtual with us or PnP if applicable)
  • Proofreading rulebooks or other material
  • Taking short videos of people playing and/or giving testimonials about our games

Ambassador Rewards

We want to reward our Ambassadors!! Below is a list of some of the rewards you may earn, depending on your activities.  Ambassadors will need to show consistent effort across a period of time for the more substantial rewards.

  • Promo items
  • Shirt / clothing options when they become available
  • Downloadables (Corps of Discovery maps, art/wallpaper/avatar, etc.)
  • Early access to new games – playtesting or demos
  • Playtest credit in the rulebook
  • Ambassadors that demo the game at conventions will be paid for their efforts

Ambassador Selection Process

As an Ambassador, you’ll be representing the Off The Page Games brand, so we need to make sure that you’re aligned with our core values and mission.  We’ll select Ambassadors after an informal discussion so we can assess what you’re interested in doing, what region you’re in, your communication skills, your views on inclusiveness, etc.  Once selected, we’ll also need you to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement and agree to a Code of Conduct.

Training / Supplies

We’ll ensure you’re comfortable to discuss the following items, and help to train / coach you when we need to.

  • How to play / teach the game
    • Selling points of the game
    • Visibility to future plans (upcoming expansions, new games, etc.)
  • General knowledge of all our games and differences between Retail and Deluxe
  • How to handle disparaging remarks

 

If demoing, we’ll make sure you have the supplies you need, which may include:

  • Retail copy of the game
  • Off The Page Games shirt
  • Signage
  • Newsletter QR code / sign up
  • Promos or prizes to give to players

Expectations

  1. Join our Discord channel and subscribe to our newsletter.
     We’ll have an Ambassador only area where you can ask questions, share tips with other Ambassadors, and get new info from us.  We may have periodic video calls to discuss these items as well. Ambassadors need to stay up to date on all our games.

     

  2. Send us a monthly email about what you’ve done.
     Include pictures as appropriate (from store / convention events, etc.). We don’t want to make this too much like work for anyone, but we need to ensure Ambassadors are contributing fairly to the program and not taking advantage of any perks or rewards.

     

  3. Be kind and considerate.
    Since you’re representing Off the Page Games, we need our Ambassadors to be kind and treat everyone with respect.
